Problems With Prepositions?

Hi, tutors,

Those of you working with English language learners may have heard them say that prepositions are the hardest thing of all things English to learn.  This month’s “Grammatically Speaking” in TESOL Connections is about prepositions and their place in our language.  Author and grammar expert T. Leo Schmitt provides some rules for prepositions for “time” and for “place.”   He also provides some teaching tips for discussing prepositional phrases and phrasal verbs—two different animals that share some common stripes.  Check it out here:  http://newsmanager.commpartners.com/tesolc/print/2013-10-01/4.html

While you’re there, Schmitt invites you to tease your brain with a grammar challenge!

Almost the week-end!  Have a good Thursday, lder
